I've lost count of the paper cuts I've gotten trying to close this chapter of my life.
I'm starting to chip away at the laundry list of problems in my mind, but I can only do so much taking it one day at a time.

The date on the calendar reminds me that I'm not where I thought I'd be.
I am still working towards a future that was never guaranteed.
I know there's more to life than this.

I'm always trying to remind myself that I'm capable of more than taking up space.
It's so much easier said than done when you don't always feel out of place.

My circumstances are uncertain every day.
I've had to stand by and watch myself decay.
I'm coming to terms with all I've missed, I'm hoping there's more to life than this.
I'm holding out for better days to write all the wrongs that I have made someday.

I'm feeling numb from this.
I get the short end of the stick.
I'm trying to stay golden.
What's the significance of dealing with all of this?
I'm losing grip on old excuses.

I'm always trying to remind myself that I'm capable of so much more.
